The Wallonie Data Center complies with ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certifications. What does that mean for you?

ISO 27001

ISO 27001 certification is an international standard that sets out the requirements and good practices for implementing an Information Security Management System (ISMS). What does this mean in practical terms? We are able to guarantee you total control over security at all levels of our organisation in an environment where the security of the data hosted has become a major issue of trust. We were awarded this certification in 2018.

ISO 9001

The WDC has also held ISO 9001 certification for several years. This certification reflects the very special attention that we pay to Quality at every level of the business.


Our history

  1. 2019

    The Wallonie Data Center completes the external development works. The WDC’s Green IT policy is strengthened further by eco-grazing.

  2. 2018

    The WDC is awarded ISO 27001 certification, reinforcing its status as a benchmark datacentre in the heart of Europe.

  3. 2017

    The rise of the Cloud continues and security requirements
    become essential. The WDC reinforces the physical security of the building using the latest technologies: secure access, surveillance cameras, badges, accurate tracing, alert systems.

  4. 2016

    The world changes. Mindsets evolve. People become more aware. The WDC infrastructures are upgraded through an ambitious investment plan focused on extending the available operating space at the WDC and Green investments. In particular, the WDC installs solar panels. Today, more than 1,850 of them have been installed around the building.

  5. 2015

    The WDC is awarded ISO 9001 certification, guaranteeing a quality management system.

  6. 2014

    A programme to develop and modernise the infrastructure is launched in the form of an ambitious investment plan, based along 3 main lines: infrastructure, service and the back-office. WDC now positions itself as a benchmark datacentre in Belgium.

  7. 2013

    Win, the Telecoms and IT provider and integrator, becomes the main shareholder in the WDC.

  8. 2006

    With the IT activities of Cockerill Sambre (now Arcelor) relocated to France, a major investment plan is put in place to refurbish and convert the Wallonie Data Center into a genuine datacentre at the cutting edge of innovation and operating in a highly secure location. This is the location from which we issue the official announcement of the creation of the WDC.

  9. 1987

    Cockerill Sambre creates its very first datacentre in Villers-le-Bouillet, for the purpose of hosting its sensitive IT data away from its industrial activities. It is a brilliant idea that is still demonstrating its value today.
